With security an issue in India, it is unlikely that the zealous cricket fans will watch an international cricket match live for some time to come.
This then makes the continuance or the discontinuance of the Test series between India and England important.
If the English cricketers refuse to play, then most other cricketers will follow suit. As others have warned, it will mean international cricket is doomed in India.
Though it is unfair to load such an onerous responsibility on them, it appears that the English cricketers have the fate of International cricket on their hands. Unsurprisingly, rumours are already afloat that both Flintoff and Harmison have opted out.
However, judging by what Hugh Morris, ECB’s managing director has to say the decision to tour or not hinges on the security report. If the security report is positive then England appears determined to send their team to India even if it means they have to field a second string.

I heard that one of the security experts who came from SA, was stuck at Oberoi. He was rescued later. Imagine the kind of report he wud be giving to his team. He was here to check the security for CL.

It was not one but at least 6. They are credited with saving quiet a few lives.
When the number of matches played in INdia gets reduced or called off forever our BCCIs clout also will take a beating.This is the fear uppernmost in our minds.
Having said that the foreign players are not obliged to come and play here in the prevailing circumstances. LIves are more precious than playing a few cri. matches.
BCCI has nothing to fear as long as Indians are glued to cricket.

Indians would like to watch with interest when Indians play at home. When there is no match at all in INdia due to cancellation will they watch two other countries playing?

I am with you on this and that is why I think ICL,IPL and Ranji Trophy will become more popular if this isolation continues.
