Dravid is clutching at straws

One of the telltale signs that a cricketer is losing it is when he starts quoting statistics.

Consider this:

“My runs-per-ball average is pretty good this series. I think you have to be a little patient and I am ready to be patient.”

Imagine Rahul ‘The Wall’  Dravid quoting runs-per-ball average that too to justify his Test cricket form.

There can be only one inference; Dravid knows he is sinking.

If in a defiant mood they will say we dont have to prove anything to anybody( except their present form)

R,

I wonder who gave them the prerogative?

Sinking faster than the Titanic. Next one to go I think.

Dada did it for the longest time. Then he outnumbered himself.

Good thing VVS doesn't talk at all.

It figures.

VVS is a sacrificial goar whether he talks or not.. Guess he will be the next to go...

Surprise that Dravid has made such a comment. Shows a person totally frustrated with his form and the media...

BTW.. Happy Diwali everyone...

Q,

He is the next in line.

NC,

I agree with Tri, come what may VVS will be sacrificed.

Ott,
If it comes to 3 spinners, no VVS, India will go down. And they will have lost even before a ball is bowled.

NC,

That is what they call a zero sum game.

I was rather surprized at (and saddened by) this comment - esp the runs per ball stat. It sounded too un-Dravidian. That is a very frustrated man talking. I figure he'll hang around till Kumble does.

VMM,

It is sad that he has to restore to bolstering his case. He should have never let it come to this stage.
