i would say keep cricket away from olympics. still, if they want, T20 is the best format. Or else we will end up with a 2 month long olympics just like the cricket world cup.
I don't believe in having Olympic sports that aren't the pinnacle of the game. (Soccer and tennis are the obvious examples here.) Assuming that 50-over cricket carries on, the World Cup will remain the pinnacle of that format.
It'd be fair enough to have T20 in the Olympics as the ultimate national-team goal for the really short game. And in 2018, 2022, etc. you'd have some slightly less prestigious T20 World Chamionship.
Cricket cannot become an Olympic sport. U need more than 8-10 countries participating. And u cannot bring in teams who havent played international cricket. So its a really long way to go.
I remember the early days when the 50 over game was exciting. :)
Seriously, the T20 format is ideal for Olympics and if I am not mistaken, they have already played it in the Olympics as an exhibition match or something.
Yes ottyI think they played as an exhibition match in Olympics or Comnwealth and if I remember correctly Sachin was bowled by an unknown player for a low score.(there too)
Neither. Leave cricket out of the Olympics. Not enough countries can field even a half reasonable team. Does anyone remember the Kuala Lumpur experiment? Probably not because it was a failure.
It might find its way in, but that doesn't mean it's the right decision. Or that it will be successful. It will just be a farce if it gets in, and that's the last thing the sport needs right now.

Two month long Olympics is a disquieting thought.

David,
I agree with you.Olympics can be the pinnacle of T20.
The format suits the global nature of the games.
Yes, the T20 World Cup would have lost its lusture by then.

Tri,
Cricket has been provisionally approved for inclusion in the 1020 Olympics.

Thomas,
It is a dead cert cricket will find a way into the Olympics by 2020.
Yep I remember that experiment.

Thomas,
Thats a valid argument and needs introspection.
