The reason according to the FICA:
The Federation of International Cricketers' Association warned that the players may stage a revolt against the ICC if it continues to be "paralysed" by the BCCI and remains "incompetent" in its handling issues in the sport.
It is difficult to understand how BCCI is to be blamed, for FICA itself admits that “the players have realised their worth after being showered with millions of dollars by the Indian Premier League and its rival Indian Cricket League and feel they are better prepared to handle the game's functioning.”
Have they forgotten that IPL is an offshoot of the BCCI?
It is also lamentable that FICA needed the BCCI to show them their constituents, the player’s worth.
The plain truth is that the FICA like the ICC is a toothless organisation. The talk of player’s revolt is an attempt by FICA to divert attention from its failures.

The paycheck for FICA from the BCCI has not reached them... hence these noises.
this was very FEEKA (tasteless) statement...
Also, their bark is certainly more dangerous than their bite. One look at their leadership should tell you a few things.
Scorpi,
That is a possibility.:)
Pan,
I agree. BCCI is everyones whipping boy.
John,
I wish the BCCI gives a fitting reply through Niranjan Shah. :)
I have heard of their objections to Sharad Pawar becoming ICC President, Bindra being elected as Chief Executive, Harbhajan being let off despite being tried in a kangaroo court, David Hussey not receiving his 15% for the IPL etc.
FICA consists of players from England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies.
Havent heard a peep from the FICA when it came to Shane Bond and the extremely poor manner in which the NZC handled the issue.
Nor have I heard anything about the Andre Nel- Charl Langevaldt-Monde Zondeki fiasco.
Beat up on India FICA.. Thats the only way you will stay relevant in the media :)
Cheers
PLAYERS WILL REVOLT AGAINST ICC IF IT IS BOSSED OVER BY BCCI. ARE THERE INDIAN PLAYERS IN THIS FICA. FIRSTTIME I AM HEARING ABT THEM.
Homer,
With you on this, just another publicity campaign.
R,
No India, Pak,SL,Bangladesh.
FICA? What's that? I think BCCI should buy them over and disband that group.....lol
BCCI may end up doing that. :)
It's about those not yet contracted to any league Ott. In effect FICA is telling others, get your leagues up and running...or maybe hike our salaries...there will be a trade-off somewhere.
Sangakkara was a player's assoc spokesperson at one time and he is in the league.
The thing is most of these fellows prefer a league in their backyard...or even better hiked salaries without the extra play of a league...and they could well have been put up and encouraged by the new formation of Stanford (aka WICB)-ECB. Stanford will try his best to take over cricket/ICC...either through proxy or otherwise. Didn't like being spurned the first time, now he is buying up votes. These FICA men are mere lackeys.
Soulberry,
That is not comforting.
