Can IPL mend relationship between Australia and India?

Australia's cricketers are likely to use their stints in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to mend the fractured relationship between them and India.

Of course playing together in the IPL will help in healing the hurt between Indian and Australian cricketers.

However, it is doubtful whether it will create a positive image about them in the eyes of the Indian fans. To convince them that they are not wolves in sheep clothing, the Australians have to carry over the same behaviour during the upcoming India - Australia Test series.

Can the Australians convince the Indians fans with how they play in the IPL?

Ottayan,
I don't think Indian fans would care about what happened during the test series between India and Australia.. Personally, we dont have that much long memory..

I think it will fizzle out.. similiar to the notion that media created that Man United fans would treat Ronaldo badly because of his role in getting red card for Rooney in the world cup match..

Pan,

Will it go beyond 'obnoxious weed'?

Robin,

The Aussies are more concerned about their personal image.:)

I would prefer they don't become sheep. At least if they have to dress as sheep they are wolves when the play for Australia. Wolves win more than sheep.

Kumble is a nice guy, but he cops it when he loses. Harbhajan is as bad as any Australian, but gets lauded when he wins.

I agree with Robin.Indians, like Australians, love an ugly winner better than a beautiful loser.

Park,

More than the public it is the media who loves a ugly winner.

Ott,

What are the odds that a news channel will not replay the incidents at Sydney prior to the October series?

What are the odds that Roy wont pen another brain dead article ( with the blessings of CA) about how much he despises India/Indians?

What are the odds that Peter Lalor and Malcolm Conn wont pen another one eyed article disparaging the opposition and talking up the Aussies?

Irreconcilable differences is how I would describe the Indo-Oz relationship.

Cheers

Homer,

The media will not let it die down.
But do you beleive things will be as ugly in the field?

Yes.

Otts, a classical eye wash... there is no rift as such... everyone except the Aussies have moved on. This is all for getting their image right for more sponsorship.
