Now that the CSIRO has assured Cricket Australia it is possible to use pink balls for night cricket CA is going ahead with the putting the plan into place.
This brings up two questions. One, is there a necessity to play Test cricket at night?
Two, will it generate as much public enthusiasm as Twenty20?

Not a no trust motion yet, but it does sound weird - reckon a t20 or odi day-night game is workable but 5 day-nighters in a row that can be disorienting.
Sure, they're trying to apply the t20 model here, but it is quite bizarre. that's the cricket bazaar for you.
Not too sure, but then, it might just workout.
A test match starting at 9:30 pm is a sure recipe for a nice sleep for the spectators and tv audience.

I am not sure but I think the game will start earlier say 6.00 or even 4.00 p.m.
I think it will increase TV ratings - possibly cut into saas-bahu ratings - won't the dew factor play a huge part?
I think it might work.. generally doing stuff in the dark is more appealing than in daylight so it might just do the trick..
I agree on the saas-bahu front.. more TV ratings definitely.. as for crowds.. probably more than those on working days..
Takes care of bad light, 90 overs will be bowled more often. five days may be doable, but it will do the players too. face it, it's not a one night stand like t20 or a day-night odi.

Yes dew factor will come into play.We may see shorter test matches as teams playing under light may struggle to defend.

Yes it is the way forward... finally that atrocious pink ball worked. It is to now see practically.
If this do happen, no way test cricket will turn dead.
