Finally some drama at the ICL

Until now, the ICL tournament suffered from a lack of drama. To the consternation of the organisers there was nary a whiff of scandal,no drug allegations, no fines, no suspensions i.e., until now.

The suspension of Chris Cairns and Dinesh Mongia has changed all that. It has given the organisers sufficient impetus to talk up ICL. Talk up they will as it is a god-given opportunity to attract notoriety.

Coming back to the suspension, rumour has it Chris Cairns hid an ankle injury and Dinesh Mongia was a accessory to the fact, hence both were suspended.

However, in a style befitting an Indian organization there has been no official word elaborating the cause. Let the innuendos begin.

match-fixing, undisclosed injury and under performance so far on 3 different channels/reports - have no clue what is credible.

and I have a hard time believing the match-fixing report - do people really bet on ICL games?

People bet on whether the bazaar hen will f@rt or not...ICl is quite full of possibilities for those who think and do that way.

For instance, how much do you think is probably at stake over the Stan 20/20 for 20? I'm sure that must be interesting to know as well...and hey, who knows who does what in an unofficial match such as that with godzillions as prize money!

Maybe Cairns and Mongia played poker over their sore ankles.

RS,

Surely, TimesNow would have gone to town with this.

Soulberry,

Agree completely. People are starved for opportunities to speculate.:)
