The Shoaib - PCB stand-off continues.

Though named in the probables list, Shoaib Akthar finds himself ignored in the shortlist of 24.

The reason - PCB wants him to pay-up his fine of 7 million rupees, whereas Shoaib is looking for succor from Lahore High Court.

The PCB has shown no rancor and selected him, so why is he reluctant to pay up?

If he is interested in playing for Pakistan, he should at least make an attempt to meet the PCB half way.

No pride there, plain self-interest.

About the fine - Shoaib's case is pending at the Lahore High Court. Shoaib has appealed against the ban and fine, so he can't pay anything till a decision is given.

He's not in the 24 because its an army type camp where theplayers will go through rigorous training like they did last summer... Shoaib was not considered to be fot enough for such training.

Some may argue that if he cant do that ho can he play.. well Pakistan's trainer Dwight has said it will take him 2-3 weeks to get shoaib into top fitness... Shoaib will be training under him.. the camp starts in 4 days.. hence no shoaib in the 24..
