The news that Pietersen has been signed up by an IPL franchisee(Mumbai Indians) is old hat. Now Flintoff is finalising a contract with Shah Rukh Khana's Knight Riders.Paul Collingwood,Owais Shah,Stuart Broad and Ravi Bopra are expected to join the IPL bandwagon shortly.

Here are their bid values.

Pietersen and Flintoff $ 1.5 million each per year.

Paul Collingwood, Owais Shah,Stuart Broad and Ravi Bopra have been seduced with bids in the region of $300,00/ each per year.

Pieterson was supposedly reached for 4 mln. Some sanity here.

Neither of them are worth 1.5 mil unless teams can get local sponsors - i.e add an English sponsor (for example to KKR) and display their ads in the UK. Maybe they can then open up tons of international targeted endorsement revenue. We did not see much of it in 08? Is that viable?

So salary cap will slide up?

RS,

Come to think of it, none of the players are worth a million.

It is difficult to asses viability of players in IPL. There seems no defined revenue stream.

BTW are you a MBA?

no I am not an MBA :-) I am in software. I just come up with long-winded business terms.
