A bomb blast is still a bomb blast

Whether it occurs in Pakistan,India or Sri Lanka, a bomb blast is still a bomb blast.
May be one can differentiate by their intensity and the number of people it harmed.
Every bomb is threat to life and limb so how can Cricket Australia say, Nothing hypocritical about touring India.

There is no way one can say a bomb blast in India or elsewhere is not a security threat. The very statement is hypocritical.

The Australian Government advisory for travel to India and Pakistan are at different levels so it is not necessarily Cricket Australia that is at fault. Pakistan is on a list of countries that they ask you to reconsider your need to travel, for India they suggest caution.

Park,

Welcome back. I fpr one missed your opinions.

Coming to the issue. I agree with you regarding the travel advisories.

However, cricketers are given a security cover which is equivalent to one given to the President.

So there is a subtle difference isn't it?

interesting to note how other cricket playing countries will react. Though Otts, no amount of police protection can stop a fan from slapping the coach... an insider job I suppose LOL.

That's an excellent point, but in your equation, did you forget money???

Scorpi,

The reactions are on the expected lines.

BTW did you notice that other than the established players, others like Watson are willing to travel to Pakistan.

Surely, the others are making an excuse.

Slogger,

I deliberately left it out since others had mentioned that anomaly. :)

Thanks Ott,

I will try to comment when I can but it is footy season now and the Wallabies are riding high so cricket gets the back seat for a few months.

If cricketers get Presidential security, can I say I would prefer to get Indian Presidential security on current track records.

Australia is also posturing about sending troops across the border into Pakistan, making Australians more likely to be targets.

May be they dont hear it as loud as the Pak blasts.

Ott,
Money is THE reason...Didn't the australian players crib during IPL for Jaipur blast? Still they did play there after 2 days!!!

A fan,

It might have been difficult for the Australian team to play in Jaipur as a) they were not part of the IPL and b)they had a series in the West Indies at the time. Warne and Watson played for the Royals but Warne is not part of the Australian team and Watson said he is willing to play in Pakistan.
