Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey, Australia's key batsmen, will miss the pre-Test series practice match and play for Chennai Super Kings, their Indian Premier League team, in the Champions League.
This surely boosts Chennai Super Kings chance of winning the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League.

Does Hussey not have to play for his Australian team which I believe has qualified?
Also looks like ECB may not be able to participate due to ICL issue. Maybe ECB/Stanford and ICL should join hands and have another champions league to counter this.
Very interesting suggestion RS - A rebel Champions league - West Indies, England, and the ICL.
Brilliant!
so CA has lined up (or laid) too...
RS,
CA and other associations have agreed that IPL has the first choice.
The sweetner being the IPL team owners will have to compensate the loss.
The ECB/Stanford pact may become regular, however, the IPL lure is sure to say the county's plus its players.
What BCCI is attempting is to stop other cricketers joining ICL.
Pan,
They are ready and willing. :)
