That's what they have done by acceding to the BCCI's demand.
I would rather watch the players playing for their native states or franchisees as the case maybe, than watch them turn out for the IPL teams.
Surely, the IPL is turning out to be a Frankenstein.
"Indian Premier League franchises have negotiated the right to be given priority over English, South African and Australian domestic teams. It is understood local teams will receive compensation for releasing their stars."

Next time any Australian tells you that their cricket team has balls ... point them to this post.
This is only the beginning of something serious that is going to happen in cricketing relations between countries. Am afraid we are carrying the ipl act a bit too far. Now the players have to decide whom to play for. But can they trample on thei contract to play for three yrs.
CC,
Will do so with relish. :)
R,
The pity is the players have no choice.
They are commodities, if their owners are willing to sell then they are sold.
CC - I believe the team has the balls. Its the board and these so called corporate executive that are bending over to the Indian demands.
Money talks.
on contrary Q i think all boards acceded for the danger of players revolt...early retirements...
think of it...
This is ridiculous. God save the game and the players!
Straight point made the right point. That couild be the only explanation.
The nature of the tournament itself is flawed. That a player has to play against a team he represented in that year and probably had a critical part to play in its success is weird.
That IPL gets the first pick just shows that money/BCCI are calling the shots.
