The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reacted cautiously to Indian Premier League title winning Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne's offer of being ready to mentor young Indian spinners, saying it was too early to give a thought to the proposal put forward by the leg spin wizard.
This is an inexplicable statement. Warne himself has offered his services and furthermore any doubts on his capacity to integrate with Indian's and motivate young players are dispelled post his success with Rajasthan Royals.
In addition, though we boast of legendary spinners like Prasanna,Venkatraghavan,Chandrasekhar and Bedi, they have been failures in unearthing and developing spinners.
The BCCI should jump at this chance and engage Warne to mentor young Indian spinners.
Surely, other cricket boards would have sealed the deal by now.

May be the bcci dont want to anger our spinners who ,as u say, couldnt do much. I am surprised at the australians taking a liking to india .waugh is already there. some others also feel comfortable with the reception they get here.
though i have not heard this 'statement' anywhere till now except here...but its really shame that someone even thinking on this offer...
may be warne is already engaged in oz being CA's spin mentor is creating doubts in BCCI minds...
for our legendary spinners...other than making statements in media its hard to envisage their contribution...
they want to see a lap top ppp.
went against Jimmy too.
The BCCI are known for being daft ...
Seriously, they should. Looks like they are doing this the BCCI way. However, I won't be surprized if they are actually talking to him about this, yet bluffing to the media. Remember the story with John Wright?
R,
The question of angering our spinners is ruled out. Other than B.S and Venkat the others are with ICL. Bedi is having his own academy.
Pan,
What you say about our legends are true. They are good at maintaining status quo.
NC,
You hit it on the enter button.
CC,
They take pains in proving it everyday. :)
VMM,
You seem charitably disposed towards BCCI. :)
