Yuvraj harbors Captaincy hope

Yuvraj hopes to Captain India someday.

I think he will be a Captain in the Dravid mold. A Captain, unsure of the flow of the game and one who gives up the ghost easily, in short a Captain who dithers.

I doubt whether he will have the guts to back players and sure to play favorites.

Would rather see Sehwag anointed the Captain.

Anyone think he is Captaincy material?

he can harbour captaincy as long as shaun marsh converts into an Indian... take him away from the equation, he is complete crap. Who would like to have a captain that constantly barks and snares... totally immature and spoilt this guy yuvraj is.

Yuvaraj did a much better job without much fanfare. But he may not fit into a tough captins post.

Has he not heard of MS Dhoni? Or does he think Dhoni is reaching the end of his career?
He needs to start batting with more consistency first - worry about captaincy later.

I don' see much difference between Sehwag and Yuvi. They both have their vices--as players and captains. Dhoni is so much better at it.

Neither Sehwag nor Yuvraj are captaincy material.

Dhoni could be Indias best yet and Yuvraj stands no chance if India is to become a leading force in cricket ...

Yuvraj shouts at this players, his face gives away too many emotions - after a loss, during the press conference (and is not able to innovate on the fly like Dravid). I am not sure if Sehwag is right either. It has to be MSD, for some more time...

Apologies to all.

I was not thinking beyond Dhoni. What I wanted to find out was in case Dhoni is injured and unavailable for a complete series, who would you like to Captain India?

If dhoni is injured then we can have sehwag or sreesanth.

R,

Sreesanth? Should we not consider Harbhajan?

Thanks to Jayawardene's and Sangakkara's inputs, Yuvraj survived as a captain in IPL... If not for them, he would have been exposed at how bad a captain he is... e.g. Yesterday he did not give Sree santh more than 1 over...

Sehwag is a much better captain than him.. But I would back Kaif (Hopefully he would find a spot in the team soon) rather than Sehwag..

Robin,

Yuvraj is a pretender. Ah! Kaif, but his performance in the IPL was not electrifying.

the man needs to sort out his place in the indian test side before harbouring any hopes of the captaincy. poor guy, his career is in utter jeopardy.

Uber,

Yep. He needs to establish himself. The rest hopefully will follow.
