The second ranked team in women’s cricket has sowed the seeds of hope among Indian cricket fans by their stupendous achievement in the Women’s Asia Cup.
To relive the memory, Indian women thrashed all comers in the recently concluded Women’s Asia Cup and carried the trophy home for the fourth time in succession.
However, doubts persist whether they can take on the number one team Australia and bring home the World Cup.

The womens team thrash evry other side convincingly except New Zealand. They are more consistent than our men and are csapable of winning the cup.
I think the only safe bet here is that any match between Australia and India is going to be infinitely better in terms of sport(wo)manhip and spirit than any match the two mens team could put on.
R,
NZ? I thought it was Australia's domain?
Thomas,
Give it another two years, they will pick up the lag. :)
The Asia Cup means next to nothing in women's cricket. Pakistan is a minnow without a major victory. Bangladesh is a minnow without a major victory. Sri Lanka is a class above the first two, but has only had one major victory (against South Africa a couple of years ago).
David,
That killed all my enthu. :)
Australia and West Indies are no match for Indian eves. Aus was bowled out for less than hundred in front of a huge sellout crowd at eden gardens and the runs were knocked of with ridiculous ease by our girls. We have some good players like Mithali Raj(loft shot specialist) anjum Chopra(coverdrive specialist) Goswami the fastest bowler in women circuit.
R,
At Eden gardens, they must have been unnerved by a huge empty stadium.
I'm sorry, but a *single*-shot specialist does not qualify as a 'good player'.
Otty it was a sell out crowd almost full. The crowd had gathered coz the eves had just won the world cup or some such event thrashing evry team by mile. For the first time one saw such a crowd for a womens match.Even the ground authorities would have been surprised.
Mr Thomas I only highlighted the best shot of the concerned player.Generally the approach of our women team is definitely more positive than our mens team.No one walks with dropped shoulders when in trouble. Most of us may not believe it but it is the fact.
