Reacting to Mahanama's report, ICC has sent a letter to the BCCI, seeking an explanation about the pitch used for the third Test between India and South Africa.
If BCCI's explanation fails to convince the ICC, the governing body can even ban Kanpur from hosting international matches
Do you think anything will come off it?

Ott,
Bet Mahanama had nothing adverse to say about this wicket.
Also, after the IPL, India goes to SL for a 3 test series where, guess what, the wickets will be low and slow turners.
In the event a match gets over in 3 days, could we get said venues banned too?
Cheers
Ott,
After Ahmedabad, everybody and his uncle knew that Kanpur would be a turner. Kallis wrote about how it would disadvantage India. Smith and Arthur spoke along the same lines.
And South Africa won the toss, a fact that should have negated any advantage accrued by playing on a turner.
265, 325, 121 and 64/2 - a sum total of 775 runs scored in 3 days for the loss of 32 wickets - since when did that qualify as a bad test wicket?
Also, going forward , the rule of thumb for Indian curators should be simple - don't play up to the opposition strengths. And if that means producing green tops when Sri Lanka come visiting or square turners when the Proteas are around, so be it.
Cheers
Homer,
I am in complete agreement with you.
One thing highlighted by the report was that the match was over in 3 days. The inference drawn from it is that the pitch was under done.
If time taken to complete that match is taken in consideration, then even Motera pitch is suspect.
HOMER HAS NAILED THE POINT PROPERLY. MAHANAMA IS WASTING EVRY ONES TIME. I WONDER WHETHER SAFRICANS LODGED ANY COMPLAINT ABT THE PITCH.
R,
The SA's have not lodged a complaint.
If I am not mistaken they have vowed to give India a taste of their 'home advantage' when India visits SA.
Both India and SA had unfair advantages at the grounds at their respective wins. Anyway, one has the right to prepare the grounds according to their strengths.
Let the SAFs make some bouncy pitches. Indian team is today a better traveller. I would say, bring it on.
IF THEY CAN BAN KANPUR FOR THIS WHAT ABT AUS AND SAFRICA PREPARING GREEN TOPS. MAHANAMA IS WASTING EVRYBODYS TIME.
Philip,
Your attitude is commendasble.:)
Hail Mahanama... finally some sense
Scorpi,
Sense. You shock me. Mahanama is a busybody.
It was not nice considering the money doled out by Dhoni to the curator after the match... kind of fishy.
