Harbhajan banned

Harbhajan banned from the rest of the inaugural IPL tournament for slapping Sreesanth.

We commend the IPL for doing the right thing.
Now lets hope the BCCI shows him the door.

poor bhajji he paid the prices of fulfilling wishes of so many players and fans alike... ;-))

True.
But he got his just desserts.

happy to see that the moron has been kicked out. wish they banned Sree too for a few matches.

Then both the buggers can join the WWF and sort it out in the ring.

True SP, it was probably the wish of most of the players in international cricket. I guess sree should also be suspended for few matches.

Rajput was caught in the crossfire. He seems to be a bit unlucky man.

R,

Rajput had a rap in the knuckles coming for a long time. Remember he had taken pot shots at Vengsarkar & Co.

why did it come to this? Mumbai Indians are a bankrupt thinking unit for making Bhajji captain - he can barely pull thru an hour without taking a wicket, and to captain a side is way off. His head must have been on the verge of explosion after the defeat. Even Nehra would've made a more relaxed captain. No jokes.

Perhaps a new rule could be introduced, called by the captain like the power plays, where the captain is allowed one slap per game of whoever he wants to in the opposing team.

Now this would cause sleepless nights for whoever was captaining a side playing Australia, India, or the Knight Riders, but would be great entertainment value.

NC,

Maybe they thought it will make him responsible.

As you rightly said he is immature and refuses to learn from his mistakes.

Sportsfreak,

An admirable suggestion. ICC should take a serious look at it. :)

BTW, welcome back, its been a longtime.

Symmo and Heyden would have dropped the idea of making up with Bhaaji. The ban is not enough considering the no of times he has overstepped the limits. I fail to understand why Dhoni advocated lenient punishment . Punishing Sreesanth is improper coz he only wanted to console the other team captain.
Rajput did not restrain Bhaji ok, Who bothered to restrain Bhaji in Australia.

R,
Good question.Rajput was the titular coach in Australia. So obviously it is his responsibility to rein in the misguided elements.

Frankly, I have no sympathy for Harbhajan and Sreesanth.

They both got what they deserved.

Now an umpire also banned for two ipl matches. One slap three wickets.
