A dire prediction from Yorkshire Chief Executive Stewart Regan. He fears “traditional formats could be "raped and pillaged" unless the Twenty20 revolution is properly managed and believes the IPL will change cricket forever.”
Like a true politician, he has raised a bogey and played to the gallery vowing to defend the honour of Test cricket and county cricket. Sadly, he has subsided without offering a solution.
One wonders, if IPL is an advancing army raping and pillaging Test cricket and county cricket, how did these defenders of crickets honour and custodians of county cricket fail to see the threat?
