ICC Champions Trophy and TV Ratings

HT-TRP- 2.6.

aMap-TRP- 3.7%

Why this contradiction and how is it indicative of the popularity of the ODI format?

Hindustan Times claims the match between India and Pakistan garnered a TRP of only 2.6% and smartly concludes, "If TV ratings for India-Pakistan matches are an indicator, then the ongoing Champions Trophy is bad news for one-day cricket".

Whereas an aMap Press release says, it garnered a TRP of 3.7% and effusively concludes "The live telecast on Doordarshan was followed closely by more than 30 million viewers (Individuals 4+, All India), registering a spectacular jump in viewership as compared to all the previous matches".

There are two points to note.

Both TRP's are from the same source.

HT shows TRP of Star Sports whereas aMap shows TRP of Doordarshan.
