In his latest column in the Sydney Morning Herald, Peter Roebuck has asked Brett Lee to follow Andrew Flintoff’s example and quit Test cricket.

Roebuck believes that injuries have reduced Brett Lee to a mere passenger in the Australian Test squad and hence it is time for him to quit the Test scene with dignity. Interestingly, though Roebuck has not mentioned it openly, it appears that he is asking Lee to concentrate on the shorter formats of the game, presumably Twenty20.
To the reader, do you think that Brett Lee should retire from Tests and concentrate on Twenty20?

I ALSO THINK LEE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BEAR THE LOAD OF TEST MATCHES. HE CAN ALSO PLAY SHORTER VERSION TO PROLONG HIS STAY IN CRICKET,
So another IPL bashing column from Peter Roebuck next week?
I don't think Lee has to quit test cricket, in Flintoff's case it was the bowling, batting and fielding at slips that were taking its toll on his body. Lee only has to worry about his bowling and he has got a better track record that Flintoff in the case of injuries and comebacks. I can foresee him playing test cricket for another 2 years....
i read the article earlier today and was astounded at Roebuck's thoughts. Normally we agree on topics but he wants Lee to follow Flintoff's suit which is stupid. Lee is world class act and one who unlike Flintoff doesn't have the burden of an all rounder and also who only has become injury prone in the last 1 year. otherwise he is fit as a gazzalle.
i was looking forwrd to see lee in this test but alas...
there is anyway nothing sensational happening at ashes...and as the season of kite flying is coming up...roebuck to tried to do it... :)
It's pity that someone who is treated as best writer of cricket suggests this.If all will start retiring from test cricket in a row then it will not take longer to end test cricket.
Baiju,
Even I think Lee has some Test cricket left in him and like you said his body is not as injury prone as Flintoff's Let us hope he ignores Roebuck's suggestion.
Poshin,
I agree with you and was hoping to see Lee in action in this Test.
Vikas,
You are right. In a lighter note, I am sure Roebuck will write a column on the evil effect of IPL if Lee too quits Test cricket.:)
Pan,
Kite flying season already? :)
