So that is it. Mishra came and wrapped it up. Australia all out for 195 in 64.4 overs.
Other than the huge margin of victory - 320 runs- the most remarkable thing in this victory was the ease with which India won. You can almost say things went according to plan.
Congratulations to all Indians.

Australia have crept to 172/8. It has been nearly an hour since the last wicket fell. It is time either Mishra or Bhajji came to the party.

This is just too exciting. Zaheer has White caught by Dhoni. Australia 144/7 - sorry they are now 144/8 Lee cleaned up Zaheer. Is he on a hat-trick?
Johnson see that danger out. No hat trick for Zaheer.

Wonder why the match is yet to start. Does it not start half-an-hour earlier on the fifth and final day?
Clarke will be facing the first ball on the fifth day from Zaheer Khan.

Gautam Gambhir and Virendra Sehwag pair have become the second most successful opening pair for India. The most successful opening pair are Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan.
I have always assumed the Sunil Gavaskar- K.Srikkanth pair to be the second most successful, so it is a surprise to learn that the Gavaskar -Anshuman Gaekwad was until yesterday the second most successful pairing.
P.S An unsubstantiated belief: I think among the opening pairs the Sehwag-Gambhir pair must have the fastest scoring rate.

The question uppermost in my mind is will India win?
Clarke and Haddin have already eaten up more than one session and I fear, if the Indian's do not get either of these batsmen out in the first hour, their shoulders will droop. If that happens then the Indians will revert back to type. Instead of making things happen, they will wait for something to happen which in turn means these two can eat up sessions and with a bit of luck by the way of umpiring errors or even dropped catches can save Australia from defeat.
However, there is one blessing - India cannot lose this match and similarly Australia cannot win.
Having said India cannot lose, I now wonder whether I am being presumptuous.

The match will be over just before tea.
R,
Glad to hear your optimism. :)
more than the win...its the way they lost it is gonna hurt them more...
pitch is still good one to bat but they lost it in mind when hydo decided that they should get 516 by the close of play...
that created a ripple efffect and ozies never recovered after that 'blazing' start...
some mind implosion that...
not that we are complaining... :)
Pan,
This is not the Australia we know. Guess the aftermath of the Sydney Test broke their spirit.
Onwards to a series victory. :)
Am surprised they lasted this long... they should have been cleaned out yesterday itself.
Live blogging eh... that's the first for you.
Scorpi,
Yep -live blogging for the first time. Good response from the readers.
We played like them and they played like we usually do.
R,
Exactly.
