If you bend invitingly you are sure to be 'buggered'.

Border-Gavaskar Cup- Australia's tour of India 2008

If this 'inexperienced' Australian cricket team wallops us it will undoubtedly have to thank Greg Chappell. More valuable than his insights, he has managed to use his good offices with the Rajasthan Cricket Association and prepare customized wickets for them to train.

'Hindustan Times' reports that  Chappell had requested the Rajasthan Cricket Association for three tailor made wickets, one wicket that turned square, one that was similar to Nagpur 2004 and another conventional Indian one. In addition, Chappell has commandeered all his academy hopefuls to bowl at the Australians.

Granted as hosts we are bound to provide them with the very best facilities, however, if one compares it with the facilities provided in Australia it is excessive to say the least.

One wonders whether the Australian Cricket Board would permit such happenings. For example, if an Indian happens to be a coach ( which is never going to be the case) of NSW, will he help the Indian cricketers acclimatize by providing customized pitches and bowlers?

What we are doing is similar to letting an enemy nation train our troops and test fire our weapons.

It can happen only in India and we saw how BCCI responded to this development.
Coming back to Greg nothing to fear. If he does the same thing to Aus that he did to our team it will be worth having him there.
RCA shd rethink abt continuing with his services.

I am surprised that BCCI let this happen. As usual the BCCI has issued a statement frowning on these 'extra' facilities.

I doubt whether Greg will do that and RCA will doubtless continue having him on their pay-roll.

I think they could have made two more requests- given that they are here 3 weeks before the first match, they could have requested to play on the actual pitches in actual venues - and maybe asked all our bowlers to bowl at them as well.

I would recommed to have a SCCI(Spy for Cricket Control in India) spy like GC (SCA) in Australia as an Assistant coach or even a coach of NSW or any part of Aussie state.

Yeah, this is disgusting. What other cricketing nation gives their touring side 10 different pitches to bat on? BCCI needs to do some wrestling here - for once they can do something that they are really good at.

Am loving it. Aus really takes us seriously. And that in itself is a big compliment. I rather give them all the facilities and then bash them rather than bashing them and then they crying that they were not given any training facilities.

I dont think its wrong in any way for Aus to ask for 3 kinds of pitch and as a good host we are supposed to oblige. We never ask that when we go to Aus, hence the problem. Our BCCI is busy counting money than concentrating on inanities (according to BCCI) such as practising pitches and facilities for out players.

This is just a storm in a teacup. Trust me, we will still beat the Aussies. If we lose, i will treat you to a hyderabadi biryani ;)

At least from a positive side, CA has offered to do the same the next time around... hard to trust them though considering they gave us school kids to bowl at the nets.
