The Shoaib Akthar fixation

Image via Wikipedia
Pakistan cricket has to grow out its Shoaib Akthar fixation.

All eyes on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar's fitness for Pakistan
Akhtar, 33, has played just two one-day internationals in 16 months due to disciplinary and fitness problems.

He made an unimpressive return to international cricket after 14 months in January but was dropped after taking just one wicket for 88 runs in two limited-overs games against Sri Lanka at home. He failed to complete his full quota of 10 overs in either of the games.

There is no way he is going to play a complete series and more than that PCB's daliance with him is effecting the teams performance. His selection yet again has deprivesd a deserving youngster a place in the team.

Can't bowl, can't field, can't bat...why is he still in the scheme of things again? Is it politics, or public opinion or just the fact that there is simply no one to take his place?

Megha,

It is a mixture. I also believe that he has powerful backers.
