Gautam Gambhir plays the longest innings ever by an Indian batsman.

Gautam Gambhir’s marathon batting in the second innings of the drawn second test between India and New Zealand is the longest test innings ever played by an Indian batsman.
Until now Rahul Dravid's marathon innings of 270 in the third Test against Pakistan, in Rawalpindi was the longest innings ever played by an Indian batsman.
In an totally unrelated note:
I am surprised to see G.R.Vishwanath and Vinod Kambli’s name on the list. It is my belief that Vishy’s batting style was one that was atypical ODI battings sans the ugly hoicks or as we used to call it agricultural shots.
Similarly, Vinod Kambli’s name in the list brings home the point that Kambli was a talent that went waste.

Even dravid out scored him. Kambli self-destructed... He wasted himself and that's a shame. Later on his comeback, there was politics.
