To those of us who follow the English cricket team desultorily, the eight-wicket loss in the third One-day International at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados was unsurprising.

The whole world knows that the English cricket team is living on past glories and this performance is standard. However, the English press the ones who should be least surprised has surprised us all with their fulminations.

One concludes that the whole country is living in a delusional world.
