Yuvraj makes a comeback

As expected Yuvraj finds a place in the 15-man squad for the two-Test series announced by the national selection committee in Chennai on Thursday.

While this blogger has nothing against his selection, he cannot help but wonder whether Yuvraj is the apt replacement for Ganguly.

Do you think Yuvraj is a long term replacement for Ganguly or do we have to play someone else during overseas tours?
The squad:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni , Virender Sehwag , Gautam Gambhir , Rahul Dravid , Sachin Tendulkar , VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Subramaniam Badrinath, Amit Mishra, Harbhajan Singh , Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel [, Murali Vijay, Pragyan Ojha.

NC,

I can answer that. :)

He is going to be a failure everywhere barring the subcontinent,

Otts,

He will fail even in subcontinent if there are quality spinners.

Tri,

Good point. I completely forgot about his weakness against spin.

His two centuries in the odis like his 178 in Srilanka practice match may count for nothing.

R,

Precisely and yet they recall him.

They left out Pujara... looks like they need more triple centuries from him to even qualify as a bench warmer.

not triples, they need 400. and a relocation plan.
