The peculiar situation of Pakistan's IPL players

Heightened tensions between India and Pakistan have made the Pakistani players undesirable for most IPL franchisees.

With the likelihood of getting clearance for these players to play in India remote, the franchisees have requested them to sign consent forms to place them for sale (trading). This is where their plight becomes ridiculous. No franchisee will be interested to buy them, as they too will find it difficult to get the necessary clearance.

So for the Pakistani players it is a case of neither here nor there.

Shoaib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Gul, Mohammad Asif, Kamran Akmal, and Sohail Tanvir are some of the players who have IPL contracts.

The ICL may be waiting like hawks for the first sign to scoop in. Actually, on the whole context, these players lose out but either way it is only the bonus that they lose.

But there are other avenues like county.
