Hayden Hits the Nail on the Head

Hayden understands 'the third world'.
Australia opening batsman Matthew Hayden, said if the Twenty20 Champions League tournament is cancelled then it would be a "huge loss" for international cricket.
"But the impact is minor compared with the social and economic impacts that it will have on India."
With the impact of the Mumbai terrorist attack already reflecting on the fickle Indian stock market, Hayden has correctly surmised that this attack will have major repercussions on the Indian Economy.
Don't you agree Hayden has hit the nail on the head?

I sympathise with Hayden's attempt to be an economist knowing fully well that his cricket career is almost over. The impact on the Indian economy will be little. Terrorism is no longer confined to India or other third world countries. It has struck US, UK, Spain and who knows Aus is the next in line.

If iam a businessman and have a billion dollars to invest. Will i go to Australia where i have a 30 million people market or go to a billion people strong Indian market? That answer nails the question.

Hayden's a fucking idiot. I don't even care to reason.

Philip,

Hope your confidence is not misplaced.

Aashrey,

Glad to see the terror attacks have not lessened your 'verve'. :)

More to it than meets the eye.

R,

Are you suggesting he was behind it? :)

No
The IPL would have spawned many economists among cricketers. Now everybody connected with cricket will be worried about the economic impact.
People like us will have less to blog about, nothing to worry about economics though.

R,
"People like us will have less to blog about" - Got to agree. Most cricket blogs have gone silent.
