Shoaib Akthar wants to play

Shoaib Akthar, in an interview says he is good enough to play for 4 more years.

"I am going to bowl again and I am going to play again for four years and show everyone how good I am."

Is this is good news for Pakistan cricket?

We have heard him make the same grandiose statements earlier only to reveret back to type. Additionally if he remains as unfit as he is now, he will only prove a nuisance.

Do you think he is committed enough?

Being temteremental doesnt help him much.
But then he has to pay hisfine before playing for Pakistan.

committed for more dope scandals and discipline violations :)

He can merely play for another year or two at most if he regains fitness and stays out of trouble.
Right now he has to pay 7 mil to PCB as fine only then he will be able to participate in domestic cricket. It seems he has no intention of paying the amount, I see him joining ICL in a few months.

R,

I think the fine is just to keep him in line.

Buzzz,

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt. :)

Wasim,

He is already with the KKR's.

How serious are the PCB about collecting the fine?

ott -forget committed enough, think this guy's emitted enough.
my q, should they have emission norms for cricketers?

NC,

Yes they should have emission norms.

I urge you to pen a song on it for BCCI.

I think shoaib's mind is whole heartedly there but his body is not gonna let him play. I doubt he'd even play for another year. Everyone saw his fitness level, or rather lack of in the Surrey games.

As for the fine.. its a non-issue. Thats not something that will stop he PCB from selecting him.

Q,

An unfit Sohaib is an asset?

I didn't say that Ott. An unfit Shoaib needs to be kept away from selection.

That statement makes him fit right into KKR does it? ;)
