Security could still scupper tour of India: Ponting

Cricket Australia and their Captain Ricky Ponting appear to be getting ahead of themselves.

Security concerns in the wake of a series of bomb attacks could still scupper the Australian cricket team's upcoming tour of India, captain Ricky Ponting indicated Wednesday.

What security concerns is he talking about. It would be good if they remember that only last week India played host to the Australian Foreign Minister and if the conditions were stable enough for a person holding a high office, then it is good enough for mere cricketers.

BTW, visiting cricket teams are given as much if not more security than say the Prime Minister of India.

U get a bunch when u hit a bunch. The tour may be called off if PCB thinks hard that CA is playing favrites or exhibiting double standards. and takes to legal course.

PCB has denied threatening legal action.

I don't know about Indians, Ott, but in Australia Foreign Ministers rate only slightly above journalists in the hierarchy of esteem in which we hold them. They are sent to test the waters for our cricketers. If we get no bites we'll risk the team.

Ha!ha! good one Park, I have no comebacks .

BTW, as I was writing this post, I had a gut feeling you will respond.:)

BTW, Your FM suffered only a couple of mosquito bites.

Will your team risk it? :0

"ponting getting ahead of himself"

punter's bat n body will be in bombay, his battered mind however, will still be in Hobart.

NC,

No wonder he is making 'senseless' comments.

I'm glad I didn't disappoint you, Ott. Our boys have just been in Darwin so mosquitos are fine.:)

I am visiting India myself for work, and will try to arrange a day at the 2nd Test if possible.

Park,

If the second Test is at Mohali then you have chosen an excellent venue.

Let them play or leave if they want to. They ought to remember that two of their boys nearly got killed while fishing but that didn't stop them from fishing again!
