Irrespective of the fate of the 'fab four', I consider the Indian cricket team to be the favorites.
Consider the following facts:
Adam Gilchrist has retired.
His own colleagues have certified Andrew Symonds as mentally unfit.
Personal problems beset Brett Lee.
Matthew Hayden and Ponting are recovering from an Achilles tendon injury and a wrist injury respectively.
Moreover, in the aftermath of the Sydney Test the Australians have shown a disinclination to engage the Indians in verbal warfare. This is in sharp contrast to the Indian players who view sledging as an important tool to gain ascendancy over their opponents.
Whom do you consider as favorites?

these is something about oz which brings out best from our players...
after all the backlash they have got and almost out ganguly fate...i get the feeling remaining three will be etching out to have a go...combine it with the power of mighty sehwag and hungry gg i can only pray for oz bowlers...
if only we produce sporting wickets this series will see oz relinquishing their champion team aura for once and all...
was the series starting in a week i'd be inclined to go with you. But it's from oct 9, and some of these aussies have nine lives.
Pan,
I violently disagree with you. :)
Here I was thinking that you were with me for the introduction of young guns, you pull a fast one on me by talking about the fab four.
It is just not on. :)
Seriously, I agree that one of them will make a impact.
NC,
Nine lives ? Surely it is a squeaky bum moment for me.
i said coz i sense it could be last hurrah for either of three...
with srt being still untouchable your guess is as good as mine...
