The Gavaskar led BCCI Technical Committee okays state associations to add an overseas player in their squads.
From Indian cricket point of view, this will give state-level players the necessary exposure to professional cricketers and hopefully they will imbibe the tricks of the trade from them.
However, the influx of foreign players may dishearten the fringe players and the already insipid Ranji Trophy may turn out to be just another avenue for the 'professional' cricketers to make money.
Do you think this is a welcome decision?

Mumbai will never play an overseas player. so there!
No, I don't like it. We will lose our home advantage, much like England has with the influx of overseas players in their counties. The Indian big three took their game to the next level in the counties and have done well in England ever since. Why are we finding ways to lose home series?
Homer,
Why ?
VMM,
You have a good point.
Already our players find it difficult to ge into national teams .This will push them furthe away. If the idea is to attract crowds it will be a nonstarter.
R,
I agree that our crowds will be unenthused.
